my name is carl monroe. i’m a mental health specialist and a seasoned hollywood creative. i have over three years of mental health experience working for a nonprofit called gardner health services in san jose, ca. i also have 10 years of experience working in the entertainment industry and have worked for netflix, headspace, buzzfeed, & siren studios in los angeles, ca. in 2020, i was diagnosed with bipolar I disorder after a serious mental health crisis. after overcoming heavy mania and a dark depression, i’ve set out to be a mental health advocate for bipolar disorder to help those dealing with it every day. listen to my story below.
